NMDP StandardsThe National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) maintains basic guidelines for organizations working with us to facilitate bone marrow and cord blood transplants. Key guidelines are defined within the NMDP Standards and include specific requirements that must be met by the partnering facility, its personnel, and its policies and procedures: 19th Edition Standards (PDF) (effective September 13, 2004). On April 18, 2007, the NMDP posted proposed changes to the 19th Edition of NMDP Standards. The NMDP would greatly appreciate comments related to these proposed changes. The Draft 20th Edition of the NMDP Standards has been made available for public view. To facilitate differentiation between the current 19th Edition Standards and the proposed changes, the Draft 20th Edition Redline (PDF) includes proposed changes denoted by underlined (additions) or text that has a strikethrough (deletions). The formatting is not accurate in this version. If preferred, you may reference the Draft 20th Edition (PDF), which includes the same proposed changes with the appropriate formatting appearance; however the copy does not denote the additions or deletions. Comments, suggestions or questions related to the standards are welcome. Please read this document carefully and submit questions or comments related to content and accuracy to the Standards Committee by May 16, 2008. Please send your comments to standards@nmdp.org. Please include the justification for any proposed changes. We welcome comments, suggestions or questions related to the NMDP Standards. You can contact us at standards@nmdp.org. Center-specific participation criteriaNMDP standards are designed to ensure that donors and patients receive high quality care and that government standards are met.
