24-Hour of Booty Joins Forces with Hendrick Marrow Program

CHARLOTTE – 24 Hours of Booty Inc. which runs the Official 24-Hour Cycling Event of the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the only 24-hour road cycling charity event in the country, announced July 7 that it will be teaming up with the Hendrick Marrow Program to encourage people to sign up for the National Marrow Donor Program® (NMDP) Registry of volunteer marrow donors.

“There is significant need for marrow donors, so we appreciate all that 24 Hours of Booty is doing to help support the Hendrick Marrow Program and encourage participants to join the NMDP Registry,” said Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports. “It’s remarkable how simple it is for 24 Hours of Booty participants to get involved and potentially save someone’s life. We just need people to be aware and make the commitment to help.”

As part of the collaboration, the Hendrick Marrow Program will have a booth at each 24 Hours of Booty event, where people can join the NMDP Registry by swabbing the inside of their cheeks. In addition, 24 Hours of Booty will donate funds to the Hendrick Marrow Program to pay for tissue-typing costs.
