The 2008 Council Meeting will be held Nov. 7–9, 2008, at the Hilton Minneapolis Hotel located at 1001 Marquette Avenue South, Minneapolis, Minn. 55403. Sponsorship to meeting

As part of our commitment to our mission to save lives through cellular transplantation — science, service and support, the NMDP sponsors one individual from each of our Network centers to attend the Council Meeting each year — What is a sponsored attendee? (PDF).

Registration

    Online registration for the 2008 NMDP Council Meeting is currently closed. On-site registration will be available beginning at 1:00 pm, Thursday, November 6, at the registration desk on the third floor of the Hilton Minneapolis Hotel.

Hotel reservations

All attendees are responsible for making their own hotel reservations and must provide a credit card to hold the reservation.  All reservations must be made by October 13, 2008.  Lodging at the Hilton Minneapolis Hotel is available at the discounted rate of $125 plus tax per night for single/double occupancy.  You may make your reservations either online or by phone.

    Immediate electronic confirmation will be provided.
  2. By calling the Hilton at 1 (800) HILTONS or directly at (612) 376-1000 and indicate that you are with the National Marrow Donor Program Annual Council Meeting.  A confirmation number will be provided over the phone when you make your reservation.

After October 13, reservations are subject to availability and rates are subject to change.  Reservations will be made on a first-come first-served basis.

    Airline reservations

    Sponsored attendees and speakers within the United States must make airline reservations through the NMDP travel agency by Oct. 13, 2008 in order to have their air travel paid by the NMDP. Contact the travel agents at 1 (800) 356-1012 or (612) 627-8108.

    Sponsored international attendees and speakers may make airline reservations through their home travel agency and submit for reimbursement up to $1500 US dollars using the Sponsored International Airfare Reimbursement Form (PDF).

    Non-sponsored attendees are also welcome to contact NMDP Travel to make airline reservations.

    International travel assistance

    Attendees who need a visa to travel for this meeting should apply early.     Transplant center certification exam opportunity

    The Hematopoietic Transplant Coordinator Certification Examination will be offered in paper and pencil format at the Council Meeting on Nov. 6, 2008. Interested candidates should review the eligibility requirements in the Candidate Handbook (PDF).

    Eligible candidates must submit the November 6 Exam Application (PDF) and applicable fees to the testing agency by Sept. 25, 2008. Complete details are available on the NMDP Network Web site or by contacting the Education Coordinator at NMDPEducation@nmdp.org.
